Two Requests for you…in October 2020
For those of us who are living in the United States, I have two requests, and for those living abroad, I have one.
My first request…
On Tuesday, November 3rd the US will vote for our next President. My first request is straightforward…VOTE. We all have our ideas on what we want for our country and who we desire to lead it…the only way to ensure you are part of the process is to vote.
My second request is also straightforward. I strongly believe we need to leave the world in a better place than we found it, for those who live on long after we are gone, and also to ensure we are making a difference while we are living on the planet ourselves.
We are living in challenging times on many different fronts. I have been honored to serve and support the country and the business community over the past nearly 40 years. First, with my military service in the Navy submarine force, and secondly, as an entrepreneur for the past 30+ years, founding and creating companies that are built for both the employees and customers that we take care of.
As an entrepreneurial leader yourself, you know from experience that there are always a myriad of problems facing you daily…some minor and some with much larger implications. Unless you are a politician yourself, then you are a leader with many great ideas about the issues facing your respective country, city, etc.…today. You know, passionately, what you feel strongly about. You know where you would spend your time and in what areas, if indeed you were a public servant.
Here is my second request…
Do something. And more specifically…do one thing different to address the issues that matter to you. Do one thing different that will help, each of you…one person at a time… do one thing different to truly make a difference – starting now. If you are not happy with the divide in the US, then do one thing yourself to bring change, in a positive way. You can’t control what anyone else does, but you can control what you do differently, in the next 90 days. You don’t need to broadcast what you did; your actions will speak for themselves.
Imagine if one person, followed by 1,000 people, followed by 1,000,000 people did just one positive thing different, what we could accomplish…in the next 90 days to make a difference. Don’t look for credit…do something different that will make an impact because it is the right thing to do.
